Create a puzzle: help
Turn a web image into a puzzle link or an embedded game.
Image URL
Use a public, direct link to a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF image, up to 15 MB. A link to a photo gallery or web page will not work. No account or upload is needed.
Keep the main subject near the center: the player crops the edges to fit the puzzle grid. Use My photos for a picture on your device.
Credit line
Add a title or photo credit, up to 80 characters. Players can find it under Help → Credits.
Credit link
Add an optional web address to make the credit line clickable.
Piece count
Leave this blank for a target of 100 pieces. The player uses the nearest available count. Players can change it before starting, except in a mystery puzzle.
For a small embedded puzzle, try 60 pieces so each piece stays easy to see.
Mystery puzzle
Hide the preview and credits until completion. The piece count is locked. This also works for escape-room clues.
Theme
Choose the starting background. Players can change it later.
Piece shape
Web images use Classic pieces. Square and Wavy are available for site puzzles and My photos.
Rotation
Turn this on to add a rotation challenge. Use the mouse wheel or arrow keys over a piece; on touch screens, tap to select it, then tap again to rotate. Players can turn rotation off before starting.
Share or embed
Choose Create puzzle, then copy the puzzle link or embed code. Anyone with the link can share it again. Use only images you have the right to use.
Remove a puzzle
Puzzle links cannot be revoked here. Remove or move the original image to stop new loads; a cached copy may remain available for up to an hour. Games already loaded may remain playable.
